Spring ORFFestra Concert

The Elementary ORFFestra had a couple pieces to play in the FSUS Spring Choral Concert, held at Faith Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee (I guess the acoustics are better there). There were 21 songs in all, each one about rain & water.
Recognize this guy?! Tyler Smith, the "Master of Ceremony", a Senior at Florida High, and a VERY good (and animated) singer! I was surprised to see him and completely impressed with his talent!

Stanton playing his favorite instrument in the ORFFestra.

Stanton and Blake in their first performance of the night.
(Blake has Uncle Stephen's boots on! He's lookin mighty sharp though!)

Stanton gets REALLY into his playing, I wish I had video of his head bobbing along to the beat he was making, it was AWESOME!

Blake did a great job too! Wish I could have gotten more of his facial expression in the pictures.

Good job boys!!!
A GREAT performance!

I was also pleasantly surprised to see Shelby in the performance (Ryan's little sister), she looked great and has an awesome voice! I never knew!

Amanda's Final Orchestra Performances

Amanda is a Senior this year...which means she will be graduating from Florida High and their Orchestra. My pictures didn't really turn out, from the spring show, but I do have some from the winter concert to complement the ones that did work.

Tuning up for the winter concert...

Recognition as a Graduating Senior!

Audience at the winter show...

Amanda playing at the winter concert...it was great, as always

Amanda playing at the Spring Concert, her LAST one!

The Audio for the videos is there, just quiet, turn it all the way up and turn your speakers up too! Truly great performances! We weren't in seats to see her very well, but she is usually 2nd to the left of the conductor in these videos...you can see generally where she should be by referencing the latter picture. Enjoy!!

Something with a "P"...I forget the name

Amanda had a solo in this one, she'll have to help me remember the names of the songs...

And last but not least, the Pink Panther Theme song! I didn't start the video right away, but had to when I realized there was going to be a "special" visitor...haha.

Birthday Boys

Stanton's birthday is May 2nd, this year he made it to the double digits! 10 years old!
He had two parties, one on Friday night- he had (7 I think) boys over for a Pirate Party sleepover! According to him it was AWESOME, Dad might not totally agree- but overall it was a success! The second party was Sunday after church, he had the family over for spaghetti and cake.
He requested 2 cakes this year, and being my favorite brother...he got what he wanted. Pirate Ship cake for party #1, and an Electric Guitar for party #2.
Pirate ship (without the mast and helm)...complete with Treasure map reading "Happy Birthday CAPTAIN STANTON", and a mini treasure island.

There is the mast, and the lookout in the crowsnest. A girl with an eyepatch.

Here I'd added the British (sneaking up in a rowboat), the helm with the captain steering, and the yellow thing next to the treasure map is a LEGO crab.

Skeleton and parrot with a cannon that actually shoots LEGO bullets, and a pirate thug.
The LEGO set was part of his birthday present.

The Captain, steering that ship/cake with his hook.

Stanton's Left Handed electric guitar cake!
Yea...the head is on backwards...I forgot to make it lefty.

Too big to fit on just one board...

See the color? He wanted black, I suggested burgundy.
Wilton's idea of burgundy is pink...so I had to add some black anyway (which makes the icing taste funny...but Stanton would have KILLED me for a pink cake)

Mom lighting the candles...

Make a wish!!

And...lighting Ben's side of the cake.
His birthday is the 2nd too, he turned 26 this year!

13 candles, each one counted for 2 years, lol.
I don't think 26 would have fit on that part of the cake.

Ben and Stanton

Kiddies really wanted some cake

Amelia waiting patiently, meanwhile Ava want's "Dat peeece!"

Longing in those eyes or what?!
haha

Stanton opening presents.

Ben is such a goober, but he's great.
See my pirate tattoo?! haha. Thanks Stanton.

Great Family time, Uncle Bobby made a surprise appearance, we were SO happy to have him with us. We missed everyone that couldn't make it, even Amanda, she was at Grad night at Disney in Orlando! Whoo!
